Marriage Application & Policy
Marriage is an institution created by God for a man and a woman to become husband and wife for as long as they both shall live. As such, we at Church Alive want to ensure that any couple we marry is set up for a successful and lasting marriage. Ultimately, that is dependent upon those making the vows, but we approach our role with a profound sense of responsibility.
Requirements
Declaration of Jesus
Both bride and groom must individually profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).
Pre-marriage assessment
The couple must complete the pre-marriage assessment used by Church Alive.
Pre-marriage counseling
The couple must complete pre-marriage counseling done by a Church Alive pastor or through a Church Alive approved marital coach. The best course for pre-marriage counseling will be determined in discussion with the Church Alive minister conducting the wedding.
Recommended reading
The Church Alive minister conducting the wedding may require you to read recommended books to compliment the pre-marriage counseling.
Payment
There is a fee of $300 that covers all pre-marriage sessions and material with the minister/facilitator, along with an additional $30 registration for the material we use for our sessions. There is a separate $300 fee for a Church Alive minister to conduct the wedding, including planning of the ceremony, attendance at the rehearsal, and officiating the ceremony. In addition, all travel expenses for the minister must be covered. Additional time and travel expenses may be added at the discretion of the minister.
