What We Believe
God has a great plan for your life!
We believe in the Bible; it is the living, breathing Word of God, written by men under the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible was written over a 2,000 year period, by over 40 authors, and across 3 continents... but always points us back to Jesus in every book. It is our everyday guide to life and one of the ways we grow closer to God. It’s accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.
If Jesus bridges the gap to God the Father, then the church bridges the gap between the lost and Jesus himself. We believe that the Church is the body of Christ. Jesus is the head of the Church, both local and universal. The mission of the Church is to make disciples of all nations, as Jesus commanded us. The Church is not a location; it's a body of believers who are united. We believe church isn't just a place you attend, but a place to belong, to grow, and to serve in.
God's love is not like human love -- it is without limits. God so loved the world that since it's formation he had a plan to redeem it. Through that love, God sent his son Jesus to die for us on a cross that we might live. Not love as a theory, but love for each of us individually. As a result, nothing can separate us from his great love. God's love is unconditional and life-changing.
We believe in one God, present and eternal in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and all God. The Father, the Son, and the Spirit are three persons with different attributes, but all the same God. The three are all united.
God is the creator of all things. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. God is always with us. He never leaves us.
Jesus is the friend above all friends. We believe Jesus Christ is the son of God, and although he was completely human, he's completely God. Jesus lived a sinless, perfect life and died a sacrificial death for the sake of the world. Jesus bridged the gap that sin placed between us and God by dying on that cross. Three days later, he rose from the dead and showed His power over death. He ascended into heaven and will return again.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is what Jesus promised us before he died on a cross and left this earth; he promised us a friend, advocate, a helper, and a guider into the truth. The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He lives in the heart of all believers, guiding us into all truth and exalting Christ. He convicts people of their sin, revealing that we are righteous in his sight. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
